East Feliciana Rural Water System, Inc.

Snow Storm 2025

Thursday, January 23, 2025

Overnight, Wednesday night EFRW has seen an increase in water usage which has made a significant impact on water storage.  The wells are running at full capacity and continue to run non-stop.

Residents through out the distribution may see low pressure due to the increase in demand as well as significant leaks.  EFRW will be inspecting the water distribution and customers are strongly urged to inspect service lines and outlying faucets for leaks as temps warm up today.  If you DO NOT have water, check your meter! If the RED leak indicator on the meter is turning, you have a leak which you need to be identify and repair, or your service needs to be valved out until repairs can be made.   It is imperative that leaks are repaired or valved out.  The wells can not sustain massive leaks that are allowed to run huge amounts of water!  Please check on your neighbors and elderly members of our community.

If you have questions, please contact our office between 8 am and 4 pm.  Office Staff will be available to assist.

Outage Advisory

As temperatures warm up today, please check outside faucets, cattle trough, sprinklers etc.  If you find a leak on your service line, please valve out your service immediately until repairs can be made.

If you are experiencing an outage or low pressure, please check your meter.  If the "Red" dial is turning, check your service line for leaks.  If there's no activity on the meter, check the line entering your home for frozen pipes.  If, both of these area check out "good", please notify our office for further assistance.

Snow Storm 2025

Thursday, January 23, 2025

EFRW has work through out the day addressing issues particularly in the Bluff Creek area.  Through out the afternoon the distribution system has increase capacity as staff and residents have worked to identify and valve out water leaks.  Tonight and overnight we expect usage to increase with the drop in temperature once again.  Residents are urged to maintain only a stream of water rather than a full flow of water to keep thier lines from freezing.

Friday morning as temperatures warm up customers are asked to inspect their services for leaks.  If you do not have water, first check your meter!  If the "RED" leak indicator dial is turning, you have a leak which needs to be identified and repaired or valved out until repairs can be made.  During these conditions, your leak could be affecting others! Be considerate of your neighbor.

EFRW continues to run all of our wells at 100% and there's been no failures identified within the distribution system.  Also, NO customers have been isolated from the distribution system unless thier service has been identified with a leak which could compromise the intergrity of the system.
